Clive was chosen for this forward thinking approach and tireless dedication to producing top quality organic milk. Considerable attention has been given to the soil condition at Perridge as Clive believes that this is fundamental to producing the most nutritious milk from his hundred strong herd of Guernsey and Jersey cross cows. Responsibility for the welfare of the herd is shared with brother-in-law and veterinary surgeon, Steve Turner, who has done valuable work with us on the treatment of mastitis.""Not only do the Freane family run an excellent farm, they also produce a range of award winning organic products including four week hung beef, and delicious yoghurt sold under the River Cottage brand. Whether it was beautifully marbled, tasty as you like, tender meat or their lovely yoghurt and cheese - you could tell it was the result of bloody hard work and a natural approach to producing food. I have to say that the yoghurt Judith makes in conjunction with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall is by far the best I've ever tasted in my life!

The sirloin steak was descibed as having astonishingly good marbling, beautifully tender,almost buttery and generously cut- a steak to eat as rare as you dare.
